AHRC Doctoral Scholarships 2026

The AHRC Doctoral Awards are fully funded PhD scholarships offered under the UKRI framework. They support full-time and part-time PhD study at the University of Kent, including a doctoral stipend, full tuition at the home rate, and access to additional research funding and professional development. The awards are available to applicants worldwide, with some funding reserved for international candidates, and are offered for a period of 3.5 years (extendable to 4 years with placements or additional training).

Doctoral stipend, full tuition, international fee waiver, access to extra research funds, and opportunities for inter-institutional collaboration and training.

Eligible applicants hold a good honours degree (First-class or Upper Second-class), have not already started a PhD, and must apply for a PhD in an eligible discipline. International applicants are fully eligible, with some awards available to overseas candidates.

Applicants must complete their PhD application at the University of Kent, download and complete the AHRC Landscape Award form with their prospective supervisor, and submit the completed application by email to kentgrc@kent.ac.uk.
