Ernest Rutherford Fellowship

The Ernest Rutherford Fellowship is a five-year UK research fellowship funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to support exceptional early-career researchers in developing independent research careers in STFC priority areas, including computer science, physics, astronomy, and related disciplines. The fellowship is hosted at a UK research institution and aims to enable researchers to establish independent lines of inquiry with institutional support. It provides salary support and additional allowances to facilitate research activity and mobility.

Salary support, equipment and consumables funding, travel allowance, relocation support, visa and Immigration Health Surcharge coverage.

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent research experience, be early in their career with no mandatory minimum postdoc years, and must have an eligible UK host institution to support the fellowship.
