NSF Astronomy and Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellowships

A postdoctoral fellowship program supporting highly qualified, recent doctoral scientists to carry out an integrated program of independent research and education in areas supported by the Division of Astronomical Sciences. Fellows may pursue observational, instrumental, theoretical, laboratory or archival data research in any area of astronomy or astrophysics combined with a coherent educational plan. Fellowships may be taken to eligible host institutions chosen by the fellow and support researchers for a period of up to three years. The program aims to provide early-career investigators with experience in research and education to establish them for leadership in the scientific community.

Fellowship support for up to three years and the ability to take the fellowship to eligible host institutions of the fellow's choice to conduct research and education.

Highly qualified, recent doctoral scientists (postdoctoral researchers) may apply to carry out independent research and education programs.
