Information

A ten-week undergraduate research program placing students with Cornell faculty and research staff to work on individual projects in planetary science, astrobiology, exoplanets, radio/infrared/submillimeter astronomy, instrumentation, and related theory. Participants also take part in group activities including lectures, roundtables, workshops and one or two field trips. The program provides financial support and travel funds and expects normal in-person participation in Ithaca.

Benefits

Research mentorship, $7,000 stipend, $1,250 housing/meals allowance, up to $800 travel to Ithaca, up to $1,000 for conference or research travel, lectures/workshops, and field trips.

Eligibility

Undergraduate students must be US citizens or permanent residents, have completed at least one year of undergraduate academic training by June 2026, and will graduate at or after the end of the 2026 fall semester or quarter at their school.
