Keck Geology Consortium United States 2026

Information

A Keck Geology Consortium Advanced research experience is a summer and academic-year undergraduate research program in earth sciences hosted at Keck member institutions. Participants complete a four-week summer research project and continue with independent or capstone/thesis research during the following academic year. The program includes presentation of results at a professional meeting and submission of an extended abstract. Projects for 2026-27 are not being offered.

Benefits

Transportation to project institution; transportation, housing, and meals during summer; research expense and analytical support; travel/housing/meals for conference presentation; $2,400 fellowship stipend.

Eligibility

Citizens and permanent residents of the US or its possessions; rising fourth-year (senior) students when the project begins (rising third-year students may apply with lower priority); declared major in earth science or related bachelor's degree program; must have completed project prerequisites and be willing to complete independent study or senior capstone/thesis research based on the Keck summer project.
