About this opportunity

A travel stipend for students and young scientists professionally based in countries with a low GDP to attend EMPSEB in Oberwiesenthal, Germany (8–12 June 2026) or the Evolution meeting in Cleveland, OH, USA (20–24 June 2026). The stipend contributes to covering travel, living expenses, and early bird congress registration fees. Funds are paid as a reimbursement after the meeting based on specified expenses. Applicants must be ESEB members and present an oral communication or poster at the meeting.

Eligibility

Applicants must be ESEB members before the deadline and be professionally based in a country with a low GDP; applicants can include Masters and PhD students, postdocs, and young lecturers. Applicants who received an ESEB travel stipend in the last five years are not eligible, and applicants must apply to present an oral communication or a poster.

How to apply

Send a single PDF (max 2 pages) by email to office@eseb.org with name, ESEB membership number, budget in EUR, explanation of how attendance supports professional goals, and a short CV. A support letter from the applicant’s advisor/mentor/senior colleague must be sent by the mentor to the same email by the deadline.
