Information

A national award that recognizes the United States’ most promising faculty-rank researchers in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemical Sciences. One winner in each of the three disciplinary categories receives a monetary prize, with additional finalists receiving smaller awards. The awards are conferred at a formal ceremony in New York City each fall. Boston University runs an internal selection to nominate BU faculty to the national competition.

Benefits

$250,000 award for each category winner; $15,000 for Finalists; recognition at a formal ceremony in New York City.

Eligibility

Nominees must have been born in or after 1984, hold a doctorate degree (PhD, DPhil, MD, DDS, DVM, etc.), currently hold a tenured or tenure-track academic faculty position or equivalent at BU, and currently conduct research as a principal investigator in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, or Chemistry.

Application

BU-affiliated faculty submit internal nomination materials via InfoReady Review; a faculty committee will select nominees and Foundation Relations will submit institutional nomination materials to the Blavatnik Awards.
