European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS) Worldwide 2026

Information

The Presburger Award recognises outstanding contributions by a young scientist in theoretical computer science documented by a published paper or a series of published papers. It is conferred annually by the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS) at the ICALP conference. The award carries a monetary prize and an invitation to give a lecture at ICALP.

Eligibility

Nominees must be young scientists as of January 1 of the award year, either at most 35 years old or having finished their PhD at most 6 years ago; eligibility is extended for leaves of absence according to the ERC starting grant rules. Nominations may be submitted by any member or group of members of the theoretical computer science community, but not by the nominee themselves nor by the advisors for their master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation.

Application

Nominations consisting of a two-page justification, links to relevant publications, and supporting letters should be sent by e-mail to presburger-award@eatcs.org with subject line starting 'Presburger Award 2026' and must be received before 13 March 2026. Nominations cannot be submitted by the nominee or their thesis advisors.
