International Environmental Science Olympiad

The International Environmental Science Olympiad (IESO) is an international competition for school students featuring a mix of competitions, field trips, family activities and ceremonies. The inaugural IESO was held in Puerto Rico from December 27-31, 2024. IESO has age divisions for Elementary, Middle and High School students and for older students (grades 11-12) teams consist of five students per country or territory. The next IESO is stated to be held in July 2029.

Participation includes competitions, field trips, family activities and ceremonies.

IESO is open to all students who have qualified. There are three age divisions: Elementary School (grades 3-5), Middle School (grades 6-8), and High School (grades 9-12); teams for grades 11-12 consist of 5 students per country or territory.
