Information

A free, week-long residential camp introducing students to materials science and engineering through team-based problem solving, hands-on laboratory sessions and demonstrations. Campers work with state-of-the-art equipment (electron microscopy, tensile testing, heat treating, polymers, composites) under faculty supervision. The program includes short lectures, group projects, industry exploration and networking with professionals and current students. The camp is intended to help students explore college and career options in materials-related fields.

Eligibility

This camp is for highly motivated students with an aptitude for math and science; ages 16-18.

Application

Competitive online application required; applicants asked to prepare a personal statement up to 200 words describing interest in materials science. Acceptance notifications sent by end of May; accepted applicants must submit registration and payment online to reserve spot.
