DW Akademie Training for Journalists 2026

A three-day regional journalism training workshop organised by DW Akademie and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Bangkok, Thailand. It is designed for journalists from South and Southeast Asia to strengthen reporting on migration, human rights and scam trafficking. Participants receive practical training in ethical migration reporting, countering disinformation and understanding algorithmic amplification while protecting the dignity and rights of affected individuals.

Fully funded participation; practical journalism training from international experts; hands-on learning using the Beyond Borders Toolkit; training based on OHCHR's narrative change methodology; networking with journalists from South and Southeast Asia; enhanced skills in responsible migration and human rights reporting.

Applicants must be journalists, reporters, media professionals, investigative journalists or digital journalists from one of the eligible countries and available to attend the workshop in Bangkok from 6–8 October 2026.
