The IUSSP Early Career Award recognises outstanding contributions to population studies by early career scholars in different world regions. One award is bestowed per region (Africa; Asia and the Pacific; Europe; Latin America and the Caribbean; North America). Awardees present their work in an Early Career Awards webinar and receive free registration for the next International Population Conference (IPC 2029, Barcelona).

Eligibility

Candidates must be early career scholars in the population field with not more than 7 years of experience after their PhD at the time of nomination (extensions up to 3 years for career interruptions may be accepted); candidates should be residents of the region for which they are nominated; candidates must be IUSSP members; nominations require support from at least 5 IUSSP members from more than one country, with at least 3 supporters from the candidate's region.

Application

Nominations are made by filling out the online application form accessible to current IUSSP members; applicants or nominators prepare a short justification (max 1000 characters) and upload a 1–2 page nomination letter, a CV with publications list, and any justification for leaves of absence.
