European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) Heidelberg, Germany 2026

Information

A two-week summer school introducing students with non-biology backgrounds to interdisciplinary approaches in modern biology, combining lectures, hands-on practicals and discussions. The programme covers methods such as building high-speed microscopes and using machine learning for bioimage analysis. It is delivered by EMBL group leaders, postdocs and PhD students and includes social activities. The course is aimed at advanced undergraduates seeking graduate-level preparation.

Eligibility

Advanced Bachelor and Master students from Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science with fluent English; previous knowledge of biology is beneficial but not required.
