Information

The Heh-Won Chang Fellowship is a competitive award that provides financial support to full-time graduate students conducting research in green chemistry and/or engineering. Recipients receive a one-time, non-renewable payment to support graduate research, conference travel, professional development, or living expenses. Two winners are selected annually and are expected to present their research at the Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference and submit a brief post-conference report. The fellowship supports work addressing greener synthetic pathways, reaction conditions, or the design of greener chemicals.

Eligibility

Full-time graduate students (U.S. or international) conducting research relevant to green chemistry and/or engineering with at least one full year of study remaining in their graduate program from the time of the expected award.

Application

Applications accepted through the ACS Green Chemistry Institute application portal (requires ACS ID); applications open starting September 1, 2025; submit personal and academic information, advisor contact, and a research description addressing fellowship focus areas (5 page maximum).
