Information

CanSat is an educational competition in which secondary school teams design and build a small satellite replica that fits within the volume and shape of a soft drink can and carries out a primary and a secondary mission. The project covers mission design, development, launch campaigns and operations across the school year. National competitions are organised across Europe and Canada and national winners are invited to an ESA event in the Netherlands.

Hands-on experience in space engineering, development and testing; participation in a national competition; national winning teams invited to an ESA event at ESTEC (CanSat - Space Engineer for a Day) with visits, poster presentation and engineering activities.

Eligibility

Teams of students aged 14 to 19 years old; students enrolled at a post-secondary/tertiary institution are not eligible. Teams must apply through their respective national CanSat competition and further requirements may be imposed by national organisers.
