About this opportunity
An annual essay competition organised by the Riksdag inviting university students to submit essays with a clear connection to the Riksdag. Essays may be at bachelor’s or master’s level and are judged by a prize committee composed of the Speaker and the Deputy Speakers. Two winners are selected each year and the prize includes a diploma, a gift, an award ceremony and a seminar in the Riksdag. Winners are appointed by the Secretary-General of the Riksdag.

Eligibility
University students; essays may be at bachelor’s or master’s level. Each department at a university or university college may nominate one or several essays, and nominations should be made by the student's supervisor or supervisors. For the 2025 competition, eligible essays must have been assessed and graded by 2025-08-15 at the latest.
How to apply
Essays are nominated by the student's supervisor and submitted via the institution. each department may nominate one or several essays.
