About this opportunity

An award program run by the American Chemical Society (ACS) together with the Latin American Federation of Chemical Associations (FLAQ) that recognizes women scientists from the Latin American and Caribbean chemistry community. Awards are presented in three categories: Emerging Leader in Chemistry and Related Sciences, Leadership in Industry, and Leadership in Academia. Winners receive a cash prize and a package of professional benefits including membership and training access. Applications and nominations are reviewed jointly by FLAQ and ACS.

$2,000 USD cash prize; one-year CAS SciFinder® ID; one-year ACS membership; certificate; tribute plaque; coverage at ACS Axial; free registration for an ACS Institute course.

Eligibility

Anyone who identifies as a woman and is based in any Latin American or Caribbean country may apply; Brazil-based researchers are not eligible. Previous awardees are not eligible to be nominated again in the same category. Additional category-specific requirements (age limits, Ph.D. status, publication and leadership minimums) apply as described for each category.

How to apply

Nominations may be self-submitted or third-party; applicants complete an online application with contact information, CV, and a one-page cover letter in English. (Application portal available via ACS Grant Interface.)
