Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers 2026

The Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers 2026 selects up to three awardees who have demonstrated outstanding research and development in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and related industries in developing regions. Awardees will be invited to Japan, receive a testimonial, and obtain a cash prize of US$5,000 each from JIRCAS (MOTAI-JIRCAS Award).

Cash prize of US$5,000; invitation to Japan for the awarding ceremony; testimonial by the Chairman of AFFRC.

Candidates must be researchers with nationality of a developing country and/or territory, under 40 years old as of January 01, 2026, affiliated with a non-Japanese research institute or university, and engaged in R&D in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and related industries in developing regions.

Applications must be submitted by recommending research institutes (universities or institutes); only one researcher can be recommended from each institute.
