Information

A four-day summer school on forensic linguistics hosted by the Aston Institute for Forensic Linguistics at Aston University. It provides a mix of morning research-oriented sessions and afternoon practice-oriented sessions covering authorship analysis, spoken interactions, online harmful discourse and disputed meanings. The programme includes hands-on guided analyses, evening events on the first three days, and course materials for attendees. The 20th edition runs on campus at Aston University from 2026-06-16 to 2026-06-19.

Benefits

Tuition, lunch, two refreshment breaks each day, all course materials; winners of Marton Petykó awards receive coverage of the attendance fees (does not cover accommodation or travel).

Eligibility

Participants must be over the age of 18 and must bring a laptop or tablet; basic knowledge of subfields of linguistics and corpus methods is recommended. There are specific Marton Petykó awards available to students of any level (undergraduate, graduate, or PhD) requiring a CV and 500-word personal statement.
