AYF Fellowship 2026

The AYF Fellowship 2026 is an international, residential fellowship on Awaji Island, Japan, for young professionals to work on community and development projects. Fellows live and work at Manabi no Sato and engage in hands-on projects across themes such as tourism, agriculture, technology and social innovation. The program includes mentorship, project work and professional development over a multi-month fixed-term placement. Participants contribute to regional revitalization and may continue project work after the fellowship concludes.

Monthly stipend of JPY 220,000; accommodation; utilities and Wi‑Fi included; meals; mentorship from AYF alumni and industry experts; hands-on project experience.

Applicants from around the world with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and prior work experience; Japanese proficiency is preferable but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate commitment to addressing societal problems and possess adaptability, perseverance and the ability to implement ideas into action.
