2026 Summer Research Fellowships

A set of summer research fellowships run by the University of Kentucky College of Design for undergraduate, graduate and international students to support independent summer research projects under faculty mentors. Fellowships provide stipends to support the completion of a student research proposal. Applicants must review eligibility criteria and proposal guidelines before submission.

Stipend of up to $5,000 and faculty mentorship.

All current and returning College of Design students in good academic standing are eligible to apply; separate applications exist for undergraduate, graduate and international fellowships. Fellowships are single-year awards and students must apply each cycle.

Prepare a research proposal, secure a faculty mentor and mentor agreement, create a budget, then fill out and submit the appropriate application form (undergraduate, graduate or international) and upload supporting documents.
