About this opportunity
The Nationaal Jeugddebat is a youth debating programme where participants take the seats of politicians to discuss issues affecting young people. It begins with Provinciaal Jeugddebatten across Dutch provinces between October and December 2026, and selected participants can register for the Nationaal Jeugddebat in the Tweede Kamer. Participants brainstorm, learn to debate, present ideas and speak with real politicians. Participation is free.
Benefits & funding
Lunch provided on the day; experience in debating and presenting ideas; opportunity to progress to the Nationaal Jeugddebat in the Tweede Kamer and to meet and speak with politicians.
Eligibility
Any young person between 12 and 18 years old may participate; you may take part as long as you are not yet 19 on the day of the debate.
How to apply
Register via the online sign-up form; participants receive an immediate confirmation by email and may be selected (approx. 50 spots per province).
