UD Student Awards

The UD Student Awards are a competition recognising student projects that demonstrate the principles of Universal Design. They accept entries from third level students and recent graduates based in the Republic of Ireland and award prizes in multiple categories. Winners of each category receive a cash prize and a trophy, and finalists are eligible for an additional commercialisation award. Finalists present at an awards event held alongside the UD26 conference at the University of Galway.

Category winners receive €1000 and a UD Student Award trophy; finalists may receive a commercialisation feasibility grant of up to €15,000; finalists are invited to present their projects at the UD Student Awards event.

Entries are accepted from third level students and recent graduates of undergraduate and master level courses in higher level educational institutions based in the Republic of Ireland; individual entries and teams of up to five people are accepted; each project must be sponsored by a tutor or supervisor from a third-level educational institute.

Submit an entry through the AwardForce online platform during the entry window; entrants provide a brief summary, describe how at least three Principles of Universal Design relate to the project, and may attach supporting images, presentations or videos.
