RFE/RL Student Essay Competition

An essay competition organized by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty for high school students in Czechia to explore what freedom of the press means to them. Entrants submit an essay (up to 2,000 characters) in Czech or English with personal and school details and a signed GDPR consent form. A jury including representatives from RFE/RL, the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Memory of Nations – Post Bellum will judge entries. The winner will be invited to RFE/RL’s anniversary celebrations, visit the Prague headquarters and have their essay published and recorded on camera.

High school students in Czechia may enter.

Submit an essay (maximum 2,000 characters) in Czech or English including name, email, year of birth, and school name/address in the header, include the AI declaration statement, and download, complete and sign the GDPR consent form.
