ASTRON and JIVE Dwingeloo, Netherlands 2026

Information

A 10–12 week summer research programme run by ASTRON and JIVE for MSc-level students to undertake astronomical research projects under expert staff supervision. For 2026 there are seven grants available (six astronomy projects and one engineering/instrumentation project). Participants are hosted at the institutes in the Netherlands and engage in project work related to radio astronomy and VLBI techniques.

Benefits

Accommodation near the Observatory; a modest stipend of €190 per week for up to three months; full travel reimbursement.

Eligibility

Students at MSc level with backgrounds in astronomy, physics, computer science, or related fields.
