Pan-African School for Emerging Astronomers (PASEA)

The Pan-African School for Emerging Astronomers (PASEA) is a biennial summer school held in Africa that brings together an international collaboration of astronomers to teach and build community. Each edition hosts approximately 60 participants and emphasises inquiry-based mini-research projects in small teams and instructor development. The programme aims to contribute to building a critical mass of astronomers in Africa and to share teaching and learning practices between Africa and North America/Europe.

Instruction in astronomy through an inquiry-based curriculum, mentoring and small-team research projects, community and networking with African and international astronomers.

Approximately 60 participants, mainly undergraduates, from across Africa.
