CEDEJ in Cairo offers doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships for research on modern and contemporary Egypt from humanities and social science perspectives. Positions include three 10-month doctoral fellowships (September 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027) and two 12-month postdoctoral fellowships. Fellows are integrated into CEDEJ’s academic community with dedicated office space and full access to the specialised library. All fellows are expected to reside in Egypt for the duration of the fellowship and participate regularly in centre activities.

Eligibility
Applicants must be conducting research on modern and contemporary Egypt from humanities or social science perspectives. Doctoral applicants must provide proof of matriculation in a doctoral programme; all fellows are expected to reside in Egypt for the duration of the fellowship.
