Danish Data Science Academy (DDSA) Denmark 2026

Information

A call for 10 three-year PhD fellowships awarded by the Danish Data Science Academy (DDSA) to support student-driven research projects in applied or theoretical data science. Each fellowship is valued at DKK 1,900,000 (+ 5% administrative costs) and is intended for candidates who will collaborate with a Danish research institution and enroll in a Danish PhD programme. Projects must have a strong data science component and align with the research scope of one or both DDSA funders, VILLUM FONDEN and Novo Nordisk Foundation. Fellows join a community of early-career data science researchers across disciplines.

Eligibility

Applicants must be eligible for a Danish PhD programme (the 3+5, 4+4 and 5+3 models), have a well-defined project proposal and an agreement with a principal supervisor at a Danish university, and enroll in the relevant PhD School prior to 2026-12-15. Applicants must have high-level proficiency in oral and written English.
