EDUFI Fellowship

The EDUFI Fellowship provides initial funding to recruit foreign doctoral researchers to carry out research for a doctoral thesis in Finland. It is open to all Finnish universities and to all fields of study. The programme aims to internationalise Finnish research and teaching and to build networks between Finnish and foreign universities. The fellowship has been used to attract young researchers who often secure further funding for their research.

Initial fellowship funding to support starting doctoral research in Finland; contributes to international networking between Finnish and foreign universities.

The fellowship is open to all Finnish universities; applications must be submitted by a representative of a Finnish university. The fellowship is intended for foreign doctoral researchers; specific exceptions and provisions apply to Ukrainian doctoral researchers who have been forced to flee due to the Russian invasion in 2022 or later.

Fill in the EDUFI Fellowship application form (available in Finnish, Swedish or English), attach required annexes and submit the signed form and annexes via email to Kirjaamo(at)oph.fi with subject 'EDUFI Fellowship'. Only a representative of a Finnish university may submit the application.
