Rhodes Southern Africa Scholarships Programme 2027

The Rhodes Southern Africa Scholarships Programme offers a fully funded path to postgraduate study at the University of Oxford. It is targeted at talented young people from Southern Africa who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to public service. The scholarship covers University of Oxford course fees and provides an annual stipend, as well as additional expenses such as visa costs and travel.

Course fees covered, annual stipend, visa and health surcharge costs covered, travel for study, settling-in allowance.

Applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia or eSwatini, have residency in those countries for at least five of the last ten years, and meet the age requirements described for entry to Oxford in October 2027.

Submit the online Rhodes Scholarship application before the deadline; if shortlisted, apply for the chosen Oxford course with support from Rhodes House.
