About this opportunity
The DHET Nurturing Emerging Scholars Programme (NESP) is a three-year programme offering two-year Master’s scholarships followed by a one-year academic internship at a South African university. The 2026 programme includes opportunities for Honours study in SA public universities, master’s scholarships at public universities in France, and master’s scholarships at SA public universities with an internship embedded in the host university. Successful candidates start in the 2027 academic year and may apply for multiple tracks.

Eligibility
Minimum requirement for all positions is a completed Level 7 qualification with a minimum 65% average; for the French and National French scholarships a Level 8 qualification with 65% is required.
