About this opportunity
The AREF Essential Grant Writing Skills Programme is an online training series designed for early-career health- and health-related researchers in Africa. The eight 3-hour sessions run across the weeks of 19 January 2026 to 23 March 2026, with an eight-week break to work on a mini proposal and peer-review others’ proposals. The programme aims to help participants develop their own grant and fellowship proposals suitable for competitive funding internationally, regionally and nationally.

Participants develop grant-writing skills, understand funders’ requirements, learn to write different proposal sections, and prepare for fellowship applications.
