Information

The UC Berkeley Visiting Fellowships for African Scholars provide two Fellowships hosted at UC Berkeley. The program aims to support independent research, completion of a major article or book, and mentorship of Mastercard Foundation Scholars during the Fellow's stay for one semester (four months). Fellows are expected to commence no later than January 20, 2026, and the program is non-renewable.

Eligibility

Applicants must reside in an African country and be affiliated with an African institution (university, think tank, or NGO) and hold a PhD at the time of application.
