Center for African Studies Visiting Fellowships 2027

Two Visiting Fellowships are offered for Africa-based researchers to be hosted at the University of California, Berkeley. The Fellowships aim to support independent research, completion of a major article or book, and engagement with UC Berkeley faculty and resources. The program covers travel, accommodation, and a subsistence allowance, among other benefits, for a four-month visit.

Travel (economy class), accommodation, subsistence allowance, desk space, access to libraries and resources, and participation in seminars and events.

Eligible applicants must be residents of an African country, currently hold an academic/research position at an African university, or be affiliated with a research institution, think tank, or NGO.

Submit a two-page CV and a research proposal not exceeding 2 pages (excluding references).
