About this opportunity

The SASTE Grant supports post-doctoral scientists from Sub-Saharan Africa to undertake a research stay in Austria in fields including Agriculture, Forestry, Water Management, Renewable Energies, Nutritional Science, Human and Veterinary Medicine, with potential involvement of Technical Sciences and IT. It provides a funded research stay with a structured embedding in a host institution in Austria and requires a continuation plan at the home institution in Africa after the stay.

Benefits & funding

Monthly stipend, housing allowance, travel budget for scientific visits, and hosting/institutional support.

Eligibility

Post-doctoral scientists (< 42 years old, women < 45 with childcare) working in one of the listed fields, with a research position in Africa and a contract with their home institution for at least two more years after returning from Austria.
