DAAD Leadership for Africa Master’s Scholarship Programme 2025/2026 for East Africans

The DAAD Leadership for Africa Master’s Scholarship Programme provides fully funded Master’s study opportunities in Germany for eligible refugees and graduates from South Sudan and Uganda. It funds a German language course, Master’s degree studies in Germany, and accompanying support such as stipends, insurance, and travel allowances for the duration of the scholarship.

German language course (up to 6 months) with test fees; monthly stipend of 992 euros; health, accident and liability insurance; travel allowance; yearly study allowance; potential rent subsidy and family allowances for accompanying dependents.

Two groups are eligible: highly qualified refugees who hold refugee status and meet the German Master’s admission requirements, and highly qualified graduates from South Sudan or Uganda who qualify for Master’s studies in Germany.
