SA-CERN Programme Excellence MSc/PhD Bursary Program 2025 for young South Africans

The SA-CERN Programme Excellence MSc/PhD Bursary Program provides full cost of study support for MSc or PhD studies related to CERN facilities, including sponsorship of research trips. It is intended to build a pipeline of South African postgraduate students who will contribute to fundamental physics research at SA-CERN aligned projects and be part of SA-CERN pillars such as ALICE, ATLAS, ISOLDE, THEORY or Technology Transfer.

Full study funding for MSc or PhD; potential research trips to CERN aligned with the project; participation in SA-CERN programme activities.

Open to South African citizens who will start MSc or PhD studies in 2025, with a project aligned to one of the SA-CERN pillars and a supervisor who is an SA-CERN member.
