Information

The Roman J. Witt Residency is a year-long residency for an artist or designer hosted by the University of Michigan’s Stamps School of Art & Design in collaboration with the UM Institute for the Humanities. The resident engages with the university community through teaching, critiques, lectures, workshops, and studio interactions, while producing new work supported by university resources. The program provides an honorarium, housing, studio space, and additional funds for materials and development.

Benefits

Honorarium of $20,000, housing, studio space, up to $10,000 for materials/research/development, and limited travel funds; opportunities to interact with students and faculty through talks, critiques, workshops and other engagements.

Eligibility

Open to both established and emerging artists/designers.
