2026 EU Gender Equality Champions Award

The European Commission opened applications for the 2026 EU Gender Equality Champions Award, a program recognizing institutions advancing gender equality in research, innovation, leadership, and higher education. The award has a total prize fund of €400,000, with winning institutions able to receive prizes up to €100,000. Applicants may apply in one category, and eligibility now includes organizations from EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries, and EU candidate countries, seeking to promote gender equality through Gender Equality Plans and related reforms.

Financial prize up to €100,000, international recognition, enhanced institutional reputation, showcase of best practices and networking opportunities.

Organizations operating in the research and innovation sectors may apply; only one category per organization, and previous winners are not eligible.

Submit applications by 29 September 2026 via the EU Funding and Tenders Portal.
