The grants support high-quality research on structural transformation and economic growth in low- and middle-income countries, with SRGs offering funds to cover research-related expenses. A separate PhD Research Grant call is available for PhD students, offering up to £15,000, and the SRG grants provide £10,000–£25,000 for eligible projects.
