ARUA Early Career Research Fellowships 2026 at Africa

The ARUA Early Career Research Fellowships 2026 is a research fellowship for African nationals who are within five years of completing their PhD. Fellows are contracted by ARUA for six months and receive a monthly stipend, accommodation support, and travel funding to host institutions, to collaborate with experienced researchers at ARUA CoEs or Africa-Europe CoREs. The program aims to enhance the research capacity of early‑career scholars by enabling time away from teaching duties to pursue a collaborative project at a host center.

Monthly stipend of US$2,000, accommodation allowance, travel support (return ticket to host institution), office space at the host CoE, and potential additional support for eligible women.

Applicants must be African nationals who have a PhD and are within five years of completing their PhD; female postdoctoral fellows may be considered in limited cases; up to 70% of fellowships are awarded to female candidates.
