Information

The ARUA Early-career Research Fellowships 2026 (Cohort 2) funds up to 42 early-career researchers to conduct research at ARUA Centres of Excellence or Africa-Europe Clusters of Excellence. Fellows are supported to spend six months away from their home institutions, collaborate with senior researchers, and produce at least one high-impact journal article along with a policy brief or equivalent output.

Monthly stipend, accommodation assistance, travel support, office space; potential additional support for eligible women (e.g., childcare).

Eligibility

Applicants must be African nationals who have a PhD, be within five years of PhD completion, be young faculty or researchers at an ARUA university or eligible applicants from non-ARUA universities, and be available to spend six months away from their home institution.

Application

Submit a cover letter, full CV with publications, letter of support from home institution, evidence of PhD, concept note, two peer-reviewed writings, and biodata page; specify the ARUA CoE or Africa-Europe CoRE to which applying.
