The Talent Development Awards 2025–26, run by the British Academy with funding from the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, are meant to empower UK-based researchers in the humanities and social sciences to develop new research skills and methodologies. The scheme supports activities such as training in quantitative and data science methods, digital humanities tools, language proficiency, piloting interdisciplinary techniques, and strengthening collaborative partnerships. Awards provide financial support for projects and activities conducted over 6 to 12 months, with a start window in March 2026.

Eligibility

Submit a Development Proposal detailing the specific skills to be acquired, how they will benefit the research trajectory, and plans to share knowledge beyond academia.
