Georg Forster Research Fellowship for Sustainable Development

The Georg Forster Research Fellowship provides funded research opportunities for researchers from developing and transition countries to conduct independent research in Germany, in collaboration with a host institution. It supports work across all academic disciplines as long as the research aligns with sustainable development goals. Fellows receive financial support and professional guidance from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

Monthly stipend, travel expenses, family subsidies, health insurance subsidy, language course, research cost subsidy, plus professional support and networking opportunities.

Applicants must be nationals of a developing or transition country, have a doctoral degree or equivalent and pursue research relevant to sustainable development in their region.

Applications are submitted online via the Humboldt Foundation’s portal with required documents such as CV, research outline, publications, and letters of reference.
