UNESCO Japan Young Researchers Fellowships 2027 (Fully Funded)

The UNESCO Japan Young Researchers Fellowships 2027 is a fully funded fellowship that enables young researchers from around the world to conduct postgraduate research at leading Japanese universities and research institutes. The program focuses on heritage conservation, sustainable development, and artificial intelligence, and supports a 3-9 month research stay beginning in February 2027. Fellows receive funding to cover airfare, accommodation, local transportation, and related expenses, with up to US$10,000 available per fellow.

Financial support up to US$10,000 plus funding to cover travel, accommodation, and related research expenses for 3-9 months; opportunity to conduct research at Japanese institutions and collaborate with international researchers.

National of an eligible invited member state or associate member; 40 years or younger at the time of application; hold a master’s degree in a relevant area; have strong academic achievement and research potential; obtain acceptance from a supervisor at a Japanese host institution.

Submit through your country’s National Commission for UNESCO, then complete the UNESCO online submission after nomination.
