SSRC APDD Individual Research Fellowships (IRF) 2026

The SSRC APDD Individual Research Fellowships (IRF) 2026 invites African researchers, policy analysts and practitioners to undertake field-based research on conflict and peacebuilding issues. Fellows participate in workshops, contribute to APDD outputs, and receive mentorship and professional development support. Up to nine fellowships are awarded in 2026, with a maximum of $12,000 each.

Mentorship from senior scholars, workshops, opportunities for publications and policy engagement, professional development and networking within a regional and global peacebuilding community.

Applicants must be African citizens currently residing in an African country, with academics holding a full-time faculty or research position (PhD obtained no earlier than January 2016) or policy analysts/practitioners based in Africa with relevant experience.
