Banting Discovery Foundation Discovery Award Program 2026

The Banting Discovery Foundation Discovery Award Program provides feasibility and pilot grants to help early career scientists establish independence and launch their research programs. The award supports day-to-day research program needs, including hiring trainees and acquiring essential equipment, to enable researchers to pursue bold health and biomedical science ideas. Each year, the program funds emerging investigators with a competitive process and a track record of potential.

Applicants must be health or biomedical researchers within three years of their first academic appointment at a Canadian university or research institute, and must be in a position to launch an independent research program.
