Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme

The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme is the EU's programme to support student and staff mobility within African higher education institutions. It funds consortia of African universities to organise mobility for master’s and doctoral programmes, and related teaching and research activities, with a focus on cross-border cooperation within Africa. The project duration is typically up to 48 months and aims to enhance learning opportunities and exchanges across the continent.

Scholarships covering study or teaching mobility placements at African universities.

Higher education institutions (HEIs), private or public, registered in Africa that provide master’s or doctoral degree courses and are accredited by national authorities; consortia must include 4 to 6 applicant HEIs with at least three different eligible African regions represented.

Consortia of eligible African HEIs must submit proposals; the call is hosted by the EU agency responsible for education, audiovisual and culture programs.
