NSFC Invitational Visiting Fellowship for European Scholars 2027

The NSFC Invitational Visiting Fellowship for European Scholars 2027 is a funded research exchange program enabling European researchers to collaborate with Chinese researchers at host institutions in mainland China. It targets PhD-qualified researchers under 45 with active academic positions in Europe, and provides project-level funding to support joint research activities, travel, accommodation and related costs for projects spanning two years (January 2027 – December 2028). Projects require a joint application with a Chinese host and aim to deepen Europe–China research collaboration.

European applicants must hold a PhD, have a full-time academic or research position, be under 45 years of age as of January 1, 2026, and demonstrate research alignment with a Chinese host.

Joint application by European and Chinese partners; project must be anchored to an existing NSFC-funded Chinese project; submit by the stated deadline.
