The Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026 at the University of Toronto is a competitive, funded postdoctoral opportunity designed for early-career Indigenous and Black scholars. The fellowship aims to advance the research careers of selected postdoctoral researchers, with supervision through Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) and integration into a collaborative academic community. Funding supports salary and research activities for up to two years, with additional start-up funds for research purposes.

Benefits

Salary support of CAD 80,000 per year plus benefits for up to two years; additional CAD 10,000 per year in start-up research funding; established supervision and research environment.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold or be close to completing a doctoral degree within five years prior to the start date and identify as Indigenous to Turtle Island and/or Black; they must have the support of an OISE faculty supervisor and be nominated for the fellowship.

Application

Identify an OISE faculty supervisor who agrees to nominate, prepare and submit a full application package including CV, research intent, training statement, and a short professional biography; the supervisor then forwards materials to the OISE selection committee.
